We all intend and aspire to decorate our house which we often call sweet home. Homes will have windows and it is imperative that they have as a house without windows is not a house in modern terms. Apart from all that is done to make the windows looks appealing curtains are hung both as a necessity as well as decorative items. The curtains are as much necessity as being decorative. It serves quite a few purpose and hence a necessity. Curtains as the name suggest is basically to create a separation between two spaces.
Curtains and Poles are hung to block light and to some extent air flowing in or out of the house. This job also could have been done by closing the window or may be closing the window partially thus only allowing a part of the light to come in. But curtains do the job differently, in the sense that it actually doesn’t shut out the internal environment from the external environment yet creates a separation between the two environments. Light can’t move in if it’s a day time and if its night light doesn’t move out thus giving the required privacy. More over air can flow in or out but light doesn’t when a drapes or curtains are hung on the window.
One might argue that all the benefits that these items of home décor provide to us could have been availed by using suitable fixtures on the window. It true for the sake of argument but there is something more than just benefit. It’s the human requirement to feel good about something or to create an ambience of certain environment in which it feels good. Decorating the house by hanging curtains and poles on the windows is that requirement of ours.
